Akupara Games and Tmesis Studio's latest adventure game, Universe for Sale, is now available. Following the success of titles like The Darkside Detective series and Zoeti, Akupara Games delivers another intriguing experience.
Is the Universe Actually for Sale?
The game unfolds on a Jupiter space station, a bizarre marketplace shrouded in acid rain and mystery. Orangutans display surprising wit, and cultists barter flesh for spiritual enlightenment. The universe itself is offered for sale by Lila, a woman with the extraordinary ability to create universes from her hand.
The game begins in a mining colony's shantytown, where you play as the Master, a skeletal cultist from the Cult of Detachment. Exploring the ramshackle colony, you eventually encounter Lila's tea house, Honin's Tea House. The mystery surrounding Lila unfolds as you shift between her perspective and the Master's.
Playing as Lila involves a mini-game of universe creation, mixing ingredients to produce visually stunning worlds. As the Master, you delve into the philosophies of the Cult of Detachment and interact with the Church of Many Gods.
The narrative gradually unfolds, prompting players to theorize about the overarching plot. Each character, whether human, skeletal, or robotic, possesses a unique story, and the richly detailed world invites exploration.
