War Thunder's "Firebirds" Update: Stealth, Power, and Naval Might Arrive in Early November
Gaijin Entertainment has announced the upcoming "Firebirds" update for War Thunder, launching in early November. This major update introduces a thrilling array of new aircraft, ground vehicles, and warships, significantly expanding the game's already impressive roster.
New Aircraft Taking Flight
Among the headliners are some iconic military aviation powerhouses. Players can expect to pilot the legendary American F-117 Nighthawk stealth attack aircraft, the versatile Russian Su-34 fighter-bomber, and the potent F-15E Strike Eagle.
The F-117A Nighthawk marks a first for War Thunder: the introduction of stealth technology. Its unique design, incorporating hard edges, radar-absorbing materials, and intricate engine shielding, allows it to evade radar and infrared detection. This aircraft's real-world performance during Operation Desert Storm, achieving over 1,200 combat sorties without loss, speaks volumes about its capabilities.
In contrast to the Nighthawk's stealth, the F-15E Strike Eagle boasts raw power. This upgraded F-15 variant features a 50% larger payload capacity and a ground target detection radar. Its arsenal includes a wide range of weaponry, from AGM-65 Maverick missiles and laser-guided bombs to JDAM and GBU-39 satellite-guided bombs (allowing for the deployment of 20 bombs in a single pass).
Beyond the Skies: Ground and Naval Additions
The "Firebirds" update isn't limited to air power. Ground forces are bolstered by additions such as the British FV107 Scimitar light tank, while naval players will welcome the French battleship Dunkerque.
Aces High Season Continues
The new "Aces High" season is also underway, offering unique vehicles to unlock and rewarding players with trophies and other prizes for completing the season and Battle Pass. These rewards include aircraft like the Bf 109 G-14, F2G-1, and La-11, formidable platoons such as the T54E2 and G6, and ships including the HMS Orion and USS Billfish.
