READY! for Kindergarten: The Leading School Readiness Program
READY! for Kindergarten is The Children's Reading Foundation's top-rated school readiness program, designed for children aged 2-5, and older children needing to catch up on essential skills.
This interactive app uses engaging games to prepare your child for academic success. Each game focuses on a specific core skill, encouraging repeated play—a proven method for young learners. The app provides helpful information about each skill (access this by tapping the "i" in the lower-right corner of each game icon).
Track your child's progress with detailed reports. The app monitors your child's performance and compares it to national averages for children of similar ages, helping you identify areas needing extra attention.
For 2-5 year olds, the app teaches: the ABC song, letter recognition (shape and sound), vocabulary expansion, counting to 30, and emotional recognition.
The READY! program is built on 26 age-appropriate targets, reflecting the skills a typical 5-year-old needs for kindergarten. These research-based targets were developed over seven years by early childhood experts, collaborating with families, scientists, and educators.
READY! for Kindergarten received a Top 100 Award from District Administration Magazine in 2013.
