At the Nintendo Switch 2 Experience in Japan, a speedrunner known as Ikaboze achieved an extraordinary feat by completing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on the Nintendo Switch 2 within a mere 10 minutes. The event, which restricted playtime to this short duration, saw Ikaboze using an existing save file, unaware of Link's equipment. In a bold move, he decided to tackle the final boss, Ganon, "completely naked and with all my equipment removed." Utilizing an unfamiliar controller and amidst the noisy convention hall, Ikaboze managed to defeat Ganon in just seven minutes, prompting spontaneous applause from onlookers.

Ikaboze expressed his surprise at the large crowd that had gathered, noting that even the staff were capturing the moment on their smartphones. He remarked, "This was the first time anyone had completed the Breath of the Wild demo, and staff congratulated me."

The Nintendo Switch 2 Enhanced Edition of Breath of the Wild boasts improved visuals and performance, achievements, and integration with the new "Zelda Notes" service via the Nintendo Switch Online app. Owners of the original Switch version can upgrade to these new features with a $10 "upgrade pack." Additionally, subscribers to Nintendo Switch Online and the Expansion Pack can access both the Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom upgrade packs at no extra cost.

Here's a look at the pricing for Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games in the U.S. for those not opting for the upgrade:

  • Kirby and The Forgotten Land - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star Crossed World - $79.99
  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - $69.99
  • Super Mario Party Jamboree - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV - $79.99
  • The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - $79.99
