Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Update Reverses Controversial Zombies Change

Treyarch has addressed player concerns regarding recent changes to Black Ops 6's Zombies mode, specifically the Directed Mode. Following negative feedback, the studio has reverted a change that extended the time between rounds and zombie spawns after five looped rounds in Directed Mode on the Citadelle des Morts map. This reversal aims to restore the fun and rewarding gameplay experience players expect.

The January 3rd update, while introducing Directed Mode to Citadelle des Morts, also implemented this controversial spawn delay adjustment. This alteration hampered kill farming and camo challenge completion, leading to significant player frustration. Treyarch acknowledged these concerns and swiftly acted to rectify the situation.

The January 9th patch notes confirm the reversal of the spawn delay, restoring it to approximately 20 seconds after five looped rounds. Additional fixes within Citadelle des Morts' Directed Mode address glitches impacting quest progression and stamp-related bugs. Furthermore, visual effects glitches and crashes associated with the Void Sheath Augment for Aether Shroud have been resolved.

The update also significantly buffs the Shadow Rift Ammo Mod. Activation rates for normal, special, and elite enemies (with Big Game Augment) have been increased, alongside a 25% cooldown reduction.

Further bug fixes and adjustments are planned for the Black Ops 6 Season 2 update launching January 28th. Until then, players can still pursue rewards by completing the Citadelle des Morts main quest before Season 1 Reloaded concludes.
