In celebration of the Nintendo Switch 2 launch – along with the impressive library of 19(!) playable Zelda games now on the system – the IGN Guides team has implemented several key enhancements. Our goal is to provide the help you need, exactly when you need it. While not every player requires a walkthrough to complete their quest, we believe these new features and improvements will inspire even the most experienced heroes to revisit Hyrule and discover secrets they might have missed before.
IGN Guides 2025: Technical Upgrades and Bug Fixes
We've focused on significantly improving the load times for our Guides and Maps. If you previously experienced page reloads or crashes on iOS devices, those issues should now be resolved for a smoother browsing experience. Without delving into excessive technical details, our product and engineering teams have refactored our guide pages to address a specific iOS browser behavior that caused unintended page jumps, refreshes, and loading failures. A huge thank you to everyone who reported these issues and helped us identify the root cause!
Speaking of smooth experiences, we're just as excited as you are to revisit one of the GameCube's finest titles, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, in its original form. Yes, this means the leisurely sailing pace and the extended Triforce Chart/Shard quest from the original release are back. You might want to consult our guide to ensure you're sailing in the right direction. Originally penned in 2002, our Wind Waker guide has received substantial updates to feel fresh and new for the Switch 2. Here's what's waiting for you:
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker Guide and Map
We have completely overhauled our guide and walkthrough with new high-resolution screenshots, integrated in-page tracking, checklists, new videos, and a radically upgraded interactive map. We didn't just adapt the in-game map; we rebuilt it from scratch. Now you can zoom in completely to inspect every island, enemy platform, and submarine in detail. Keep track of collected Pieces of Heart, charts, and items, and embark on the quest to collect all 135 images for the Nintendo Gallery to achieve 100% completion. For video fans, you can track every Treasure Chart using in-video checklists or jump directly to the relevant moment in the video from the guide. Our content also clearly addresses the differences between the Wii U HD version and the GameCube/Switch 2 version, ensuring it works perfectly for both.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Guide and Map
Surprise! We quietly released an update to our classic A Link to the Past guide a few weeks ago. If you've never played or completed this 2D open-world masterpiece, playing it via Nintendo Switch Online on either Switch model is a fantastic choice. It may not have the hundreds of collectibles of its 3D successors, but the dual-world map of Link to the Past is packed with secrets to uncover.

We might be a little late to the party (sorry!), but we believe it's better late than never. We've rolled out a complete interactive map allowing you to track every Piece of Heart and uncover every hidden cave and secret in this 1991 classic. We've also added checklists and brand-new screenshots throughout the guide to give it a fresh, polished look.

Players have widely used our Echoes checklists, and we can share that the Rock, the Table, and the Zol Echo are the most commonly collected Echoes overall. We were also surprised to learn that many players completely skipped Dampe's Automaton side quest! With the upgraded resolution and framerate on Switch 2, it's worth revisiting to recruit all six mechanical helpers. We've simplified the process with a handy, sortable, and filterable table.
