Paradox Interactive has revealed initial details for an upcoming Crusader Kings 3 expansion centered on nomadic rulers. This DLC introduces a novel governance system specifically designed for nomadic peoples, incorporating a new currency called "herd." The "herd" currency directly impacts a ruler's authority and influences various gameplay aspects, such as military might, cavalry unit composition, relationships with vassals, and other core mechanics.
The nomadic lifestyle necessitates constant relocation, a key element of the expansion. A chieftain's movements are dynamically influenced by interactions with local populations, allowing for negotiation or forceful displacement.
Furthermore, rulers will command transportable yurts, similar to the adventurer system. These yurts are customizable, with upgradeable components offering diverse advantages.
The expansion also includes iconic yurt towns that nomadic kings transport, mirroring the functionality of adventurer camps. These mobile settlements can be upgraded with additional structures, each providing unique benefits.
