Bandai Namco describes the network test as a "preliminary verification test" where selected testers will experience a segment of the game before its official launch. *Elden Ring Nightreign* is FromSoftware's standalone co-operative spin-off, set in a parallel universe to the world of the 2022 *Elden Ring*. The network test will allow up to three players to team up as Nightfarers, battling against new threats and exploring an ever-changing map to take down increasingly challenging bosses, ultimately facing the formidable Nightlord. The test features a unique three-day-and-night cycle that players must survive.

The all-new adventure in Elden Ring Nightreign starts at the Roundtable Hold, set in a universe parallel to the events of Elden Ring. Players must choose from eight unique characters, each with their own abilities and powerful Ultimates. Their journey leads them to Limveld, a dynamic environment where split-second decisions are crucial for combat and exploration, especially during the encroaching Night’s Tide, which shrinks the playable area.
At the end of each night, players confront a formidable boss, and victory leads to greater challenges. The climax comes on the third night, facing the Nightlord. While individuals can brave the night alone, teamwork is key. Nightfarers must collaborate, leveraging their unique abilities for a seamless experience. Even in defeat, players earn relics that allow character customization and upgrades, tailored to individual play styles.
Elden Ring Nightreign offers a fresh experience from FromSoftware, Inc. In this condensed action RPG, no two journeys are the same as enemies, rewards, and Limveld itself evolve with each session. Overcoming tougher foes and exploring riskier areas reveal more potent weapons and substantial Rune rewards. Discovering Sites of Grace allows heroes to level up and gain vital power.
