If you're a fan of Japanese music, you're no stranger to HYDE, the iconic artist who has graced stages like Madison Square Garden and sold over 40 million records. Now, HYDE takes center stage in a thrilling new endless runner game titled Hyde Run, which has just launched globally today.
Originally launched in Japan, Hyde Run has now expanded to offer global fans a unique way to engage with HYDE's illustrious career through a game brimming with nods to his music and performances. Developed and published by Phoenixx, this game promises an immersive experience filled with references to HYDE's journey in the music industry.
Move, Jump or Slide in Hyde Run
In Hyde Run, you'll take on the role of HYDE, navigating through a dynamic concert stage and a futuristic Tokyo simultaneously. The game offers a high-speed chase across Neo Tokyo, where you'll dodge obstacles, perform wall-runs past vibrant billboards, and collect musical notes. The atmosphere is charged with a neon-and-noise vibe, setting it apart from typical endless runners by infusing the energy of guitar solos and HYDE-specific fan service.
As you race through the city, you can pick up various power-ups, such as magnets that attract notes to you or barriers that protect against damage. Before each run, you can equip items like Note Gain to increase your note collection or a Barrier to avoid tripping over obstacles.
Additionally, you can gather crystals to unlock exclusive outfits and room items from HYDE's extensive career. Unlocking the Microphone Stand grants access to voice clips from HYDE himself, adding a personal touch to your gaming experience.
There’s More Stuff in the Game to Do
Beyond the endless running, Hyde Run allows you to customize HYDE's room with memorabilia spanning 20 years of his career, from tour gear to more obscure references. Hidden items unlock additional messages and voice notes from HYDE, enhancing the personal connection with the artist.
Currently, there's a range of limited-time content available until June 10th, 2025. The THE LAST ROCKSTARS Costume Set features HYDE in an iconic look from a music video, complete with matching ROCK Furniture like leopard prints, vintage trunks, and stage spotlights. For a more relaxed vibe, the Bat Jinbei Costume Set offers a summer-festival inspired look, while a Japanese-style furniture set with bamboo, bonboris, and a wind chime shaped like HYDE's Edyh character provides a traditional aesthetic.
