Marvel's Thing & Human Torch: February Release Confirmed

Author : Grace Mar 13,2025

Get ready, Marvel Rivals fans! The Fantastic Four team is about to get even more fantastic. The Thing and Human Torch blaze onto the scene as playable characters on February 21, 2025, completing the iconic quartet. This launch coincides with a Season 1.5 update, promising major balance adjustments, according to a recent Dev Talk blog post on the official website.

While details on their specific abilities remain under wraps, Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman—introduced last month—significantly impacted the game's meta. Reed Richards' stretchy powers and Sue Storm's invisibility mechanics added exciting new strategic layers. We eagerly await a similar gameplay shake-up from Ben Grimm and Johnny Storm in the coming weeks.

The Season 1.5 update also brings a rank reset for Ranked players. On February 21st, expect a four-division drop (e.g., Diamond I becomes Platinum II). Future seasons will see a six-division drop, while mid-season updates will maintain the four-division reset. NetEase assures players this system is subject to adjustments based on community feedback.

But it's not all bad news! Gold-ranked players can look forward to new costume rewards. Additionally, new Crests of Honor will recognize top performers at Grandmaster, Celestial, Eternity, and One Above All (top 500) levels.

The excitement doesn't stop there! Creative director Guangyun Chen previously promised a new playable character every six weeks. This means a steady stream of Marvel heroes will join the fray, keeping the game fresh and engaging. While rumors and leaks point towards Blade as the next addition, the future of Marvel Rivals remains shrouded in exciting mystery.
