Akatsuki Games has revealed plans to sunset their newest title, Tribe Nine. Despite launching across Android, iOS, and PC (Steam) platforms earlier this year in February, the game will cease operations sooner than expected. What led to this premature closure? Read on for details.
Tribe Nine Service Termination Schedule
The servers for Tribe Nine will permanently shut down on November 27, 2025. In addition to this announcement, Akatsuki Games confirmed that Chapter 4 of the main storyline will never be released - particularly disappointing following recent teases about upcoming narrative developments.
All future updates concluded prematurely on May 15th, including planned features, bug fixes, and content additions mentioned in previous game notices.
Two anticipated characters - Ichinosuke Akiba and Saizo Akiba - have been removed from the development pipeline.
Refunds will be processed for unused Paid Enigma Entities spent on features like Armed Support, Advanced Support, and the Support Contract – Revenio, commencing after contract expiration.
New purchases of Enigma Entities and Daily Passes have been disabled across all platforms, though players may continue spending existing currency until service termination.
Factors Behind the Premature Closure
Tribe Nine offered a distinctive free-to-play extreme action RPG experience with rich worldbuilding. While mechanically sound, the project faced challenges from inception.
The content release schedule proved unusually sparse, delivering just one story chapter and single event during its three-month active development period. Additionally, monetization struggled as players could assemble competitive teams with minimal investment - rewarding for consumers but problematic for sustainable game economics.
The gamble to implement gacha mechanics appears to have backfired for Tribe Nine. Despite these setbacks, the game remains playable until November 27th. Interested players can still experience it via the Google Play Store.
