Larian Reveals Exciting New Subclasses for Baldur

While many fans believed Patch 7 would mark the final major update for Baldur's Gate 3, Larian Studios has exciting news: another substantial update is slated for release in 2025. This upcoming patch promises to enhance the gaming experience with features like crossplay support and a photo mode. Moreover, it will introduce 12 new subclasses, each offering unique mechanics to enrich gameplay. While details about four of these subclasses have been revealed, let's explore the rest:

Oath of the Crown Paladin

The Oath of the Crown Paladin is dedicated to upholding justice and order, prioritizing the well-being of society above all. This subclass comes equipped with the Divine Devotion ability, which not only absorbs incoming damage directed at allies but also restores their health, making it a powerful asset in any party.

Arcane Archer

The Arcane Archer masterfully blends martial skills with arcane magic. Their enchanted arrows possess the ability to blind, weaken, or even banish enemies to the Feywild until the next turn. What's more, should an arrow miss its mark, the Arcane Archer can redirect its trajectory to hit another foe, showcasing their unparalleled precision and adaptability on the battlefield.

Drunken Master Monk

Incorporating alcohol into their combat style, the Drunken Master Monk employs a unique fighting technique. Their signature move intoxicates opponents, leaving them disoriented while simultaneously enhancing the monk's own abilities. By using Instant Sobriety on an inebriated target, the monk inflicts both physical and mental damage, turning the tables in their favor.

Swarmkeeper Ranger

The Swarmkeeper Ranger taps into the forces of nature, forming symbiotic relationships with swarms of creatures. These swarms serve as both a shield against harm and a means of teleportation. In battle, the ranger can summon three distinct types of swarms: electric jellyfish clusters that shock enemies, blinding moth clouds that obscure vision, and stinging bee legions that can push back adversaries failing a strength check by 4.5 meters, offering versatile tactical options.
