The journey from script to screen for Daredevil: Born Again involved numerous rewrites - yet surprisingly, only one episode made it to air untouched: Episode 5, which star Charlie Cox admits happens to be his personal least favorite of the season.
"There was one episode we didn't change at all," Cox revealed in a recent interview with The Playlist. "It's the bank robbery episode, which we filmed before the strike as part of the original shoot. Personally, I wasn't particularly enthusiastic about it."
Cox told the outlet he "pushed back against it as much as I felt was possible." The controversial episode centers on Matt Murdock getting caught in a bank heist while securing a loan for his law firm with partners Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll).
"The concept felt outdated - like something from a 1970s crime drama," Cox explained. "With today's security technology, the robbery premise didn't seem plausible to me. The actual theft mechanism also struck me as insufficiently sophisticated."

Despite his reservations, Cox acknowledged that many fans consider Episode 5 among the show's strongest installments. "Ironically, I've heard from countless viewers who loved that episode. It just shows how subjective entertainment can be," he said. "Internally at Disney, they've told me it ranks among their highest-rated Marvel series episodes to date."
The episode earned critical praise in our review: "The execution is masterful - I can't recall a recent Marvel show delivering this much pure enjoyment from start to finish. Most importantly, it perfectly showcases what makes Matt Murdock such a compelling hero, even out of costume."
