inZOI Developer Responds to Denuvo DRM Controversy
Denuvo DRM Officially Removed

The inZOI development team has confirmed the removal of Denuvo DRM from the game. Over the past 24 hours, reports revealed that the Creative Studio mode demo contained the controversial anti-tamper software. Denuvo's implementation in games has long been contentious, with many users claiming it negatively impacts game performance.
This digital rights management system was designed to prevent unauthorized copying and distribution of PC games, making it challenging to create pirated versions.
In a March 26 Steam blog post, inZOI Director Hyungjun 'Kjun' Kim addressed player concerns, confirming the Early Access version launching this Friday will be DRM-free. "We initially implemented Denuvo to protect against piracy and ensure fairness for legitimate players. However, after reviewing community feedback, we recognized this decision didn't align with our players' expectations," Kjun explained.

Kjun also apologized for failing to disclose Denuvo's inclusion in Creative Studio mode. While acknowledging that removing DRM makes the game more vulnerable to piracy, he emphasized this change will enhance customization capabilities. "We believe offering this freedom from launch will foster more creative, long-term engagement with our community," he stated.
Commitment to Modding Support

inZOI has consistently emphasized modding as a core feature, making the initial Denuvo inclusion particularly surprising to fans since DRM typically restricts modding capabilities.
Kjun reaffirmed their vision: "As mentioned during our Online Showcase, we're dedicated to making inZOI highly moddable. Our first phase of official mod support launches in May, enabling players to use Maya and Blender for content creation. This is just the beginning - we plan to expand mod support across all game areas for maximum customization."
The director announced upcoming details about modding support in a future post. Krafton remains committed to prioritizing player feedback and adjusting development accordingly.
inZOI launches in Early Access on March 28, 2025, for PC, with full releases planned for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The full version's release date remains unannounced.
