Monster Hunter Wilds: A Record-Breaking 8 Million Units Sold in 3 Days
Capcom's Fastest-Selling Game Ever
Monster Hunter Wilds (MH Wilds) has officially claimed the title of Capcom's fastest-selling game, surpassing 8 million units sold in a mere three days. Capcom proudly announced this remarkable achievement on their website, highlighting the game's unprecedented success.
SteamDB data further underscores the game's popularity, reporting over 1.3 million concurrent players on Steam alone, despite mixed initial reviews. Capcom credits this triumph to a comprehensive marketing strategy, including extensive promotion across various platforms, participation in major gaming events, and a well-received open beta test that gave players a compelling preview of the game's offerings.
Latest Update Addresses Critical Bugs
MH Wilds recently addressed several game-breaking bugs that were hindering player progress. On March 4th, 2025, Monster Hunter's official support account, Monster Hunter Status, announced via Twitter (X) the release of hotfix patch Ver.1.000.04.00 across all platforms.
This update resolved several issues, including the inability to unlock the "Grill a Meal" and "Ingredient Center" features despite fulfilling the requirements, inaccessibility of the Monster Field Guide, and most importantly, a critical bug blocking story progression in Chapter 5-2, "A World Turned Upside Down." This patch is mandatory for continued online play.
However, some bugs remain, including a network error triggered by SOS flares after quest initiation, and issues with Palico blunt weapon attacks not registering stun and exhaust damage. These multiplayer-related bugs are slated for resolution in a future patch.
