Latest Updates on Blades of Fire Revealed

The team at MercurySteam, comprised of former members of Rebel Act Studios, brings a rich heritage to their latest project, *Blades of Fire*. Their previous work on the cult classic *Severance: Blade of Darkness*, released in 2001, showcased a groundbreaking combat system that allowed players to dismember enemies, adding a layer of brutality and realism to the gameplay. This innovative approach has served as a cornerstone of inspiration for their new venture.

While rooted in their past successes, MercurySteam has also drawn inspiration from contemporary action-adventure titles. Specifically, they've looked to the cinematic combat and richly detailed world of the *God of War* reboot by Santa Monica Studio. Their goal is to blend fast-paced action with RPG elements, crafting an engaging and immersive experience for players.

A highlight of *Blades of Fire* is its unique weapon crafting system. Players can forge their own blades, customizing aspects such as length, weight, durability, and balance. This feature empowers players to tailor their weapons to match their individual combat styles, adding a deeply personal touch to the gameplay.

The narrative of *Blades of Fire* centers on the warrior Aran de Lira, who embarks on a quest against a cunning queen with the power to turn metal into stone. Throughout his journey, Aran will encounter 50 different types of enemies, each demanding a unique combat strategy.

Mark your calendars: *Blades of Fire* is set to launch on PC (via the Epic Games Store), Xbox Series, and PS5 on May 22, 2025. Get ready to dive into a world where your choices in combat and crafting define your path to victory.
