Blizzard has unveiled the first details of the highly anticipated housing system, set to arrive in World of Warcraft in 2025. The developers confirm that every player will be able to own a home without facing complex requirements, high costs, or lottery systems. In addition, houses will not be removed if a player’s subscription lapses. The complete housing experience will launch with the Midnight expansion.
At release, players can select a housing plot in one of two dedicated zones: the Alliance-themed Elwynn Forest, featuring influences from Westfall and Duskwood, or the Horde-themed Durotar, inspired by Azshara and the Durotar coastline.
Each zone will be organized into multiple neighborhoods, with each containing around 50 homes. Players have the choice to settle in an open district or join a private community with friends or guildmates. A broad range of customization options will be available—most items can be earned in-game, while a selection will be offered through the in-game shop.
According to Blizzard, the housing system is built on three core pillars: deep customization, social engagement, and long-term value. The developers plan to share more information in the future and are currently encouraging players to share their feedback and ideas.
