Pity System in RAID Shadow Legends: Does It Work?

Author : Christian May 20,2025

RAID: Shadow Legends is well-known for its RNG-based (random number generator) summoning system, which can be both thrilling and frustrating. The excitement of pulling shards often turns into disappointment when players go through dozens or even hundreds of attempts without securing a Legendary champion. To mitigate this frustration, Plarium introduced a feature known as the "Pity System." In this guide, we'll delve into the mechanics of this system, evaluate its effectiveness, and explore its impact on free-to-play (F2P) and low-spender players.

What Is the Pity System in RAID: Shadow Legends?

The Pity System is an underlying mechanic designed to enhance your chances of summoning higher rarity champions, specifically Epics and Legendaries, after a prolonged period of bad luck. Essentially, if you go long enough without pulling a high-rarity champion, the game incrementally boosts your odds until you finally land a valuable pull. This system aims to prevent players from experiencing extended "dry streaks" where they might summon numerous shards without any significant rewards. Although Plarium does not openly advertise this feature within the game, its existence has been verified through data mining, developer confirmations, and numerous player testimonials.

Sacred Shards

  • Base Legendary chance: 6% per pull.
  • Mercy kicks in: After 12 pulls without a Legendary.
  • After your 12th Sacred pull with no Legendary, each additional pull increases your Legendary odds by 2%.

Here's how the odds increase:

  • 13th pull = 8% chance
  • 14th pull = 10% chance
  • 15th pull = 12% chance

Is the Pity System Helpful for the Average Player?

Determining the effectiveness of the Pity System for the average player isn't straightforward. While it doesn't provide regular relief—many players report that the system's benefits often kick in after they've already pulled a Legendary by chance—it does serve a crucial purpose in gacha games like RAID: Shadow Legends. For free-to-play players, the constant struggle to obtain Legendary champions can be disheartening. The Pity System is vital in offering some hope and reducing frustration.

However, there's room for improvement. Adjustments such as reducing the number of pulls needed to activate the Pity System from 200 to 150 or 170 could significantly enhance player satisfaction. Such changes would allow players to save more shards and feel a more tangible benefit from the system.

For an enhanced gaming experience, consider playing RAID: Shadow Legends on a larger screen using your PC or laptop with a keyboard and mouse through BlueStacks. This setup can elevate your gameplay to new heights.
